PPHMF-VI will bring together experts for interdisciplinary and critical discussions of recent advances in those areas of science and technology in which high magnetic fields play an important role.

The program will cover a wide range of phenomena in physics, chemistry, geology and biology, including semiconductors and the quantum Hall effect; frustrated and simpler magnetic materials, spintronics and quantum computing; superconductivity in oxides, heavy fermions and organics; and physical chemical and biochemistry of macromolecules and biological systems.

Discussions will span the wide range of research and experimental techniques currently at the magnet lab’s and will seek to identify new opportunities in magnetic field research.

The conference will consist of invited talks, contributed talks and posters.

PPHMF-VI is a satellite to the 25th Low Temperature Physics Conference (LT 25) from August 6-13 2008 in Amsterdam, Netherlands).
